EAST FALMOUTH — A horse was killed after it was struck by a vehicle Tuesday night near Thomas B. Landers Road.
The Falmouth Police Department said in a statement that it received a report of a horse walking down Sandwich Road in the area of Thomas B. Landers Road at approximately 6:03 p.m. Shortly afterward, the department received a second call reporting that a horse had been struck by a vehicle in the area.
Police found that the horse had died by the time they arrived at the scene, according to the statement. A second horse that was loose was safely returned to its owner.
