Miami-Dade Police are investigating a police shooting involving a Homestead police officer Sunday evening at 10 pm.
According to investigators, uniform officers from the City of Homestead Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at a residence
located at 979 N.E. 5 Avenue.
As officers arrived, the subject, identified by the AP as Maynor Cruz-Solis, 22, fled the scene.
During the pursuit, the Cruz-Solis rammed an officerâs vehicle. AP reports that Homestead Sgt. Jose Murillo fired his gun after colliding with the suspects SUV. Cruz-Solis was shot twice in the face and remains in critical condition at Jackson South. The shots were fired along Dixie Highway near Somerset Academy.
