A home was destroyed on Zimple Street in New Orleans Tuesday, according to the New Orleans Fire Department. NOFD responded to the scene after a call of a house fire with people trapped inside. Two alarms were called to the scene, according to NOFD.When firefighters arrived they were told everyone had made it outside of the home and they began extinguishing the flames. Radiant heat caused moderate damage to the exterior siding at an adjacent home, firefighters said. The home where the fire started is now uninhabitable, according to NOFD. The fire was placed under control after 10 a.m. and the investigation into the cause is ongoing.
