CELORON — An “unmaintained wood stove” believed to have been surrounded by combustible material was found to be the cause of a fire that heavily damaged a village home late Monday.
The home at 44 E. Duquesne St. in Celoron was condemned following the blaze, reported to Chautauqua County dispatch shortly before 8 p.m. Celoron and Lakewood firefighters were assisted at the scene by first responders from Jamestown, Busti and Kiantone.
