Holmes County Commissioners budget appropriations approved

"It's a good budget. All our departments are being fiscally responsible," clerk Bob Sigler said.
Chairman Rob Ault thanked Sigler for his work on preparing the budget.
The commissioners commended all the departments for their cooperation and efforts to keep things running smoothly through the tough year and moving forward.
The commissioners also voted to approve the Holmes County Hazard Mitigation Plan presented by Emergency Management Coordinator Gary Mellor.
"It has never, ever taken this long to get this thing approved (by the state)," Mellor said. "We thought we had it ready, and we sent it in, but they'd send it back for some minor change or another. Finally we got it approved. I believe it is a good plan, a solid plan that covers us for five years."
