Fans appeared to have mixed reactions to the idea on social media, with many of the page's followers voicing their disappointment that Hyland won't be standing in for James Nightingale, the lawyer Ste has been getting close to in recent weeks.
"McHay was cool but been there [done] that," one fan wrote. "Ste and James are kinda fun at the minute. John Paul needs something fresh."
"Nooooo I'm so down for Ste and James," another added.
