Historical Society Museum and Library Re-Opening in April by Appointment
The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society (LVHS) announces that beginning April 14, its Museum and Library will re-open to the public by appointment. The LVHS facilities had been closed since January due to COVID-19 concerns and the winter season. All visitors will need a reservation and must continue to wear a mask and follow social distancing until further notice.
Executive director Karen Hart says, “We look forward to welcoming museum visitors and library researchers back to our campus in a limited capacity. Appointments will be available on most Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. For the museum and gift shop, we are offering appointments on the hour from 10:00 to 3:00 for up to 6 people in a group. Same day reservations may be possible. For the library, we are working with reduced staffing, so researchers should request an appointment at least one to two weeks in advance. Library visits are limited to one researcher at a time for up to four hours.”
