Jobless claims have fallen to a three-and-a-half month low, and competition is ramping up between both jobseekers and companies now hiring.
Fewer Americans, 712,000, filed for first-time unemployment benefits last week, with the unemployment rate just above six percent to end February.
Hiring expert David Cathey, partner over the consulting and contract division of Unity Search Group, thinks the stimulus bills are actually slowing the recovery.
“People are sitting at home and make a decent paycheck and not go to work. Those that are going to work want to get paid a little bit more,” he says.
