The district has $330,000 of an allowance.
The second change order was to add items such as signage and upgrade its storm shelter based on peer reviews for a total of $194,230.28.
This happens when builders continue to build the school and find things that were not taken into consideration.
"Project is well underbudget, we're at about 11% on an $84 million budget," said Sean Lehman, consultant for Hillsdale.
OTHER BUSINESS
The board recognized the retirement of two district employees: Karen Cook (playground aid, 26 years at Hillsdale Elementary School) and Frances Howman (custodian, over 50 years in the district).
The board approved a property transfer from Hillsdale Local Schools to Northwestern Local Schools. The property is 1639 Township Road 65, Jeromesville. There is no set date yet. The family members in the house all went to Northwestern, however they live within the Hillsdale line.
