Hilary Duff is to be the star of new comedy series How I Met Your Father.
The Lizzie Maguire actress, 33, is also set to be a producer on the show which is a spin-off from How I Met Your Mother, which originally aired from 2005 to 2014.
The series, which will be executive produced by the original show's creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, will be set in the near future and sees Duff's character Sophie tell her son the story of how she met his father.
