HIGHWAYS bosses are working to speed up work on a closed road which residents say is leaving them stranded following strong complaints.
Tey Road in Earls Colne was closed last month as work began to connect a new housing estate to the village’s sewer system.
Residents on the Lowefields estate off Tey Road have been left irate after roadworks that are expected to last until the end of May, which cuts them off from the rest of the village, began on March 22.
The residents’ only diversion route is down Tey Road and America Road, route which they say are not fit for purpose.
