SALT LAKE CITY — High winds blew into parts of northern Utah early Tuesday, apparently toppling several trees and prompting a warning for drivers along I-15.
The impacted areas run from the northern Salt Lake Valley into Davis, Weber and Box Elder counties.
A High Wind Warning was in effect for Davis and Weber counties, with gusts over 50 mph recorded near Kaysville and Centerville. Overnight wind peaks hit up to 65 mph, with a gust of 69 mph in Farmington, the National Weather Service tweeted.
The wind advisory remained in effect until 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Schools affected
School and bus service were delayed two hours in the Weber School District due to power outages and safety concerns, the district tweeted. Classes in the Ogden School District will operate on regular schedules.
