PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) -- A Terre Haute man is behind bars in Parke County after authorities say he led them on a high-speed chase through two counties.
Parke County deputies were conducting a traffic stop on US 36 near Cooke Road early Saturday morning when the driver, Matthew Schludecker, 22, drove off. He led police on a pursuit, reaching speeds of more than 100 MPH before crashing at the 63 southbound ramp in Vermillion County.
Schludecker tried to run, but was apprehended shortly after.
He was booked into the Parke County Jail on multiple charges of resisting law enforcement and reckless driving.
