Following Tennessee Governor Bill Lee's signing over Executive Order 70 on Sunday night, the Dyer County School system released a statement on Tuesday afternoon in regards to the order as well as the guidelines released by the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association earlier in the day.
The statement read:
“On December 20, Governor Bill Lee signed Executive Order 70, which limits indoor gatherings to 10 or more people and encourages those gatherings to only include immediate family household members.  While the spread of the virus is at an all-time high, Dyer County Schools must do our part to prevent further spread.  In Governor Lee's address he also discussed the importance of school activities, but he went on to say that further restrictions would be released from TSSAA.  Those guidelines were released on Monday, December 21.  Dyer County Schools will continue to do our part to keep our students and staff healthy and safe and will follow these guidelines through January 19.
