A brief hot spell peaked on Friday, producing unusually high temperatures across San Diego County. You’ll final temperature data below for 25 communities.
New temperature records also were set in five local cities, including Escondido, which hit 97, breaking the record for April 30 by two degrees. The previous record was set in 1996.
Ramona reached 96, breaking the day’s record of 93, set in 1996. Alpine hit 94, breaking the day’s record by three degrees. The old record was set in 2015. El Cajon got to 96, two degrees higher than the record set 2015. And Borrego Springs reached 105, breaking the record of 101, set in 2020.
