Henry Miller: It's Free Fishing Weekend!
Henry Miller
It’s a clear case of déjà poo.
For a second year in a row, the ovid pandemic has hit the dimmer switch on one of the annual highlights of Oregon fishing.
June 5 and 6 are Free Fishing Weekend, which means that no licenses, permits or tags are required to fish or go clamming or crabbing in Oregon.
While additional no-license days have been added in Oregon – Feb. 13 and 14 and Nov. 26 and 27 this year – the June weekend was the biggie for decades.
The tradition continues, but as with 2020 when Free Fishing Weekend was on June 6 and 7, the happenings that were the hallmarks of previous years have been canceled.
