After 16 years overseeing the daily life of Helston town clerk Chris Dawson has retired - but not before he was awarded one of the highest honours the council can give.
A 'virtual' celebration was held last Wednesday, with councillors and members of the public joining online to wish Chris well for the future.
At the Guildhall he was joined by deputy town clerk Pamela Lavelle, who will be taking over the top job in the new year, deputy mayor Tim Grattan-Kane and mayor John Martin for a socially distanced small gathering, held before Tier 2 restrictions came in.

As part of this the mayor presented Chris with a town plaque, in appreciation of his contribution to Helston.
