A year ago, Dion Muñoz, 31, watched in dismay as the bonds between residents and their families began to fray in the wake of coronavirus restrictions.
Residents at Morningside Ministries on Babcock Road could no longer visit in person with friends and family. No hugs, no sharing a cup of coffee.
Muñoz watched as family members stood outside the building and spoke to their loved ones on cell phones, looking at each other through closed windows. The isolation was difficult but necessary to lessen the risk of the virus spreading to the 122 people living at the facility.
