There are two primary methods for Helium Leak Detection : central testing or remote testing. The decision of which method to employ actually depends upon the situation, and what the end result will be utilized for. The central (naked) testing method clearly shows whether or not there's a leakage (often, only a few different leaks) - the remote (off-site) method reveals if there are several different leaks, and the results can also be interpreted with regards to whether or not the gas is stable, moving out of a certain pattern, etc. Holes in the fabric of an object would show up in either type of test. Of course, leakage cannot be detected by the naked eye - the other method involves high-tech equipment that can detect the presence of any flaws in a material. This equipment is called a Helium Leak Detection System (HLDS).
