Heatwave hits, vendors feel the 'heat' of losses

Expressing a similar opinion, R. Palani, a street vendor in Gandhi Bazaar, said that he used to sell bags worth Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 per day but now he is only able to sell bags worth Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,500 a day due to lack of demand. “Not many people are coming here to shop due to the heat. It has become tough for me to sell bags,’’ said Palani.
