Heathrow Airport gets green light for third runway after landmark court win

BORIS Johnson is a step closer to “lying in front of bulldozers” to stop Heathrow Airport’s third runway after the Supreme Court said it could go ahead.
Today environmental campaigners were defeated in their final bid to block the £14billion plan to build a new runway at Britain's busiest airport.

Giving a summary of the Supreme Court's ruling on Wednesday, Lord Sales said the Government's decision was lawful.
It overrules a decision by three leading judges in February which ruled former transport secretary Chris Grayling had failed to take account of the Government's commitment to tackle climate change in its decision.
