Although Valentine’s Day was more than two months ago, songs inspired by the highs and lows of love dominated this weekend’s new music lineup.
Singer-songwriter Julia Michaels puts it plainly on “Love is Weird,” a post-breakup ballad that delicately captures the complexities of love. The newest single from her newly announced debut album, “Not in Chronological Order,” set to drop April 30, explores the aftermath of lost love. Captured best in the lines “It shows up and disappears / Love is strange for some / It ranges from making love to tears,” the song’s moody lyrics pair well with its orchestral backing.
