Health unit issues caution at Bellamy Park beach Back to video
The caution means that while the beach is not closed, the water is not recommended for swimming. The health unit website states the “latest bacterial tests of the water indicated unacceptable levels of bacteria.”
All other beaches tested in the tri-county area have no warnings for bacteria.
Research has shown there is a direct relationship between people swimming in water at beaches with a high E. coli count and an increase in ear, eye, nose and throat infections, said health unit officials.
