Union health care workers voted "overwhelmingly" to ratify the tentative agreement struck between its bargaining team and Allina Health two weeks ago.
SEIU Healthcare Minnesota, which represents 4,000 health care workers at Allina Health facilities, announced the results Monday, saying members voted on the agreement over several days last week. The bargaining team and Allina Health agreed to the terms on May 5, just five days before an announced strike was set to begin.
"We fought hard to win a contract that respects, protects and pays the workers who provide the best patient care in the world," said licensed practical nurse Lynn Carlson, who is a member of the bargaining team and serves as Allina sector vice president.
