Front-of-package labelling is a top priority for the Healthy Caribbean Coalition (HCC) which is lobbying Government to ensure that listing of nutritional facts at the back of products, is a thing of the past.
Several HCC youth advocates made that clear yesterday when they held a demonstration at the Frank Walcott building on Culloden Road, St Michael, metres away from the Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI).
Just after 10:30 a.m., the small group joined their colleagues in Antigua and Barbuda who simultaneously held placards and signs with messages “High in Sodium”, “High in Sugar” and “CARICOM leaders, we need warning labels now”.
