Peter Hicks' first teaching position was at Greengate Junior School in Barrow in 1992.
Despite it being his first role, he became a well-respected member of their Senior Leadership Team.
By 2001 he had begun teaching at George Romney School in Dalton where he served as deputy headmaster for five years.
During his time there he assisted with the introduction of interactive white boards.
In 2005, he worked with the LA’s School Improvement Team before deciding to stay on permanently, working in the Improving Schools Programme, supporting schools in their teaching and learning.
He joined Heron Hill school in Kendal in 2009 until his retirement.
