Fairfield Community High School will be holding in-person registration on Tuesday, July 26 from 1-6pm and July 27 from 10am until 2pm in the school study hall/library. The fees for this year are as follows: Textbook rental and computer disk fee - $50 per student Drivers Education Fee (if enrolled) - $50 Student Parking Paved Lot - $25 Student Parking Gravel Lot - $15 The Technology Fee of $55 has been waived for the 2022-2023 school year. Financial aid forms will be available at registration for fee waivers. On-Line registration can be found on the FCHS website at https://sites.google.com/fchsmules.com/2023reg/home Students should make arrangements to have their picture taken during registration, regardless of if a student does in-person or on-line registration. Pictures taken during this time will be used for the yearbook and their student ID cards. The ID cards can be used at all FCHS home athletic events to allow a student to get in free of charge. There is no fee for having the pictures taken and a make-up date will be scheduled sometime during the school year. All incoming freshmen or out of state transfer students are required by Illinois law to have a physical prior to registering for school. You must bring the completed physical form to registration. Incoming freshmen must also have proof of a 2nd varivax immunization and seniors must have proof of meningococcal (Mu -Nin-ja-cockal) vaccine. Horizon Healthcare will be present on both dates to administer physicals to those students who need them for school or sports purposes. Any student who is a transfer to the district may pre-register in the guidance office by telephoning and scheduling an appointment at 847-9405 or 847-9406. Records from the previous school for transfer student should be sent to the FCHS guidance office. Transfer students should plan to register prior to or after regular registration. The first day of classes for the 2022-2023 school year will be Monday, August 15 with buses running a normal schedule. Classes will be in session from 8:10 to 3pm. Every Tuesday will be a 9am late start for the purpose of curriculum development and teacher training. Classes will begin at 9 and dismiss at 3pm. Buses will run at their normal time and student who arrive early will report to study hall until the first period begins. There will be no half day or early dismissals. Although, FCHS does not have an actual "school supply list," some items that would be beneficial to have would be: a flash drive, highlighters, pens/pencils, pocket folders, loose leaf paper, and notebooks. The Board of Trustees of Illinois Eastern Community College District #529 held its regular monthly meeting at Wabash Valley College, on July 19, 2022. Board members John Brooks and Jan Ridgely were appointed to the Board audit committee. The committee is charged with oversight of the District's annual audit. Trustees conducted a semi-annual review of closed session minutes. Under the Open Meetings Act, the board is required to examine closed session minutes at least twice a year. Updates to the 2022-2023 IECC catalog were approved. The catalog is considered a contract with the student body of IECC. Catalog revisions approved by the Board throughout the year were reviewed and approved for posting to the IECC website and for publication. IECC must have confidential advisors available to a student or employee who experiences sexual violence, should they choose to seek their services. To meet this requirement, trustees approved agreements with the CAISA organization and with the SAFE organization to provide counseling to those who are victims of sexual violence. Affiliation agreements were approved between the District and Embarras River Basin Head Start, Embarras River Basin Senior Center, Happy Day Express, and Lawrence Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens.
