By appointment only. No walk-ins. ### Wayne County Jail & Police Reports On 10/22 at 7:10 pm Wayne County responded to an accident on Co Rd 1730 at Co Hwy 13. According to the accident report, Kenneth D Rector, 33 of Xenia, was stopped at the stop sign eastbound on Co Rd 1730 on a ConAm Defender. Rector proceeded to enter the intersection into the path of 70-year-old Dennis L. Withrow , who was travelling southbound in a 2013 Chevy. Rector was unable to avoid the collision, striking Withrow in the driver's side, causing around $1500 damage to Withrow's Chevy. Rector was ticketed for Operating an ATV on Roadway and Property Damage and given a court date. ISP arrested Matthew Wayne Grove, 37 of Fairfield on a charge of DUI Under the Influence of Alcohol. Bond was set at $120. Court appearance has been set for October 25 in Wayne County Court. Wayne County arrested Sara Ellen Slover, 35 of Clay City on a charge of Burglary of a Building, Wayne County Circuit Court. W.C.S.O. arrested Jeremiah C. Leigh, 34 of Clay City on charges of Resisting or Obstructing Peace Officer, Firefighter or Correctional Institution Employee; Burglary of a Building; and a Failure to Appear Warrants from Clay Co. on a charge of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Office, and Marion Co. on a charge of Methamphetamine Possession, and an unknown FTA Warrant out of Richland Co. He is being held on $3,425. W.C.S.O. arrested Tanner J. Horath, 27 of Rinard, on charges of Failure to Appear for No Valid Drivers License; an arrest warrants issued by Clay Co for Driving While Revoked/Suspended/Canceled; Failure to Appear on a charge of Contempt of Court; Failure to Appear for Failure to Wear a Properly Adjusted and Fastened Safety Belt; Failure to Appear for Illegal Transportation or Possession of Alcohol/Liquor by Driver; and Failure to Appear for Driving with Suspended or Revoked License. Bond was set at $740. W.C.S.O. arrested Tammy J. W.C.S.O. arrested Brittany Danielle Steward, 34 of Flora, on a warrant for a charge of Driving While Revoked/Suspended/Cancelled; and a Failure to Appear warrant for a charge of Contempt of Court. Bond is set at $595. ### Wayne County Court Reports Javaline E. Cottrill, entered a Plea of Guilty in Wayne County Court on a Class A Misdemeanor charge of DUI on October 20th. Cottrill was sentenced to one year of Court Supervision and ordered to pay a total of $2,101 in fines and court costs. Javaline E. Cottrill, also entered a Plea of Guilty in Wayne County Court on the 20th to a Class 3 Felony charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Cottrill was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay $4,575 in fines and costs. ### ILLINOIS STATE POLICE TO CONDUCT SPECIAL TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PATROLS AS PART OF THE CLICK IT OR TICKET CAMPAIGN Illinois State Police (ISP) District 19 Interim Commander, Lieutenant Kerry Sutton, has announced the ISP will conduct day and night Special Traffic Enforcement Patrols (sTEP) in Wayne and White Counties during November. These sTEPs allow the ISP to focus on these fatal four violations which contribute the greatest to traffic crashes and fatalities: Driving Under the Influence (DUI); Safety Belt and Child Restraint use; Speeding; and Distracted Driving. The ISP will increase our daytime and nighttime patrols to ensure the safety of vehicle travelers through enforcement of all traffic safety laws. Impaired driving is a factor in more than 30 percent of traffic deaths in Illinois. Likewise, speeding is a factor in nearly 35 percent of fatal crashes; and nearly 50 percent of vehicle occupants killed in traffic crashes were known to not be buckled up.
