The Illinois State Police announce results of recent distracted driving enforcement and they go as followed: Hand held Phone/ device citations 13, Texting while driving citations 3, there where no other types of distracted driving citations and the total of citations given out was 19 total of written warning was 3. The Clay County Sheriff's Office launched their new custom smartphone application and website. This app will serve as a new and innovative way for the Sheriff's Office to connect with Clay County residents and visitors, providing information quickly and efficiently to anyone with a smartphone. The Clay County Sheriff's Office App and Website was developed by TheSheriffApp.com, a division of OCV, LLC which specializes in mobile app development for sheriff's offices and public safety organizations across the country. The Friends of the Flora Public Library Fall Book Sale will be held on Saturday, October 8, at the Flora Public Library. The sale will be from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, in the library conference room. Anyone wishing to contribute to the book sale can bring items to the east door of Flora Public Library during regular library hours. The Flora Public Library is open Monday – Thursday 1:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Odin Police have arrested 45-year-old Teddy Brown of Locust Street in Centralia for the production of cannabis. 21-year-old Anthony Dickerson of West Bond in Patoka was arrested by Central City Police for driving on a suspended license, resisting arrest, and child endangerment. Marion County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 31-year-old Stephanie Thomas of Trust Road in Centralia for alleged domestic battery. A 25-year-old Salem man was arrested by Centralia Police for resisting a peace officer and on an outstanding Marion County felony failure to appear warrant. The warrant for Dustin Taylor is on pending possession of methamphetamine, obstructing justice, and resisting arrest charges. Bond is set at $15,000. 38-year-old Marcus Walker of Greenville was returned from the Bond County Jail at Greenville on a Marion County felony warrant on a pending possession of methamphetamine case. Bond is set at $15,000. All five were taken to the Marion County Jail where they remained Sunday morning A 32-year-old Centralia man has pleaded guilty in Marion County Court to aggravated fleeing and eluding police. Terrance Laughhunn of West 6th admitted to attempting to elude a Wamac Police Officer by disobeying two or more traffic control devices on March 12th of this year. Laughhunn was placed on two years probation, ordered to undergo a drug or alcohol evaluation, treatment, and random testing, as well as pay a $500 fine and assessments. River stages as of this morning: the Little Wabash east of Fairfield stands at 5.72 feet, below the 17 ft. flood stage. Meanwhile, the Skillet Fork at Wayne City has a reading of 4.94 feet (flood stage is 15 ft.). The Little Wabash below Clay City is at 4.53 feet (flood stage is 18 ft.). Bonpas Creek at Browns reads 1.35 feet. The Little Wabash at Main Street in Carmi reads 3.73 feet, and the Wabash River at Mt. Carmel sits at 3.39 feet.
