On Friday, April 30, from 6 - 8 p.m., Dennis Kiley will give a public talk entitled The Nature of Resilience, via Zoom. The program is part of the Friday Dharma Talk Series hosted by The Dancing Elephant. It is open to the community by donation. Registration is required to receive Zoom link.
“How do you navigate stress? How do you heal from adversity? These are great questions, especially at this time in our collective history,” said Dancing Elephant, in a news release.
In this evening program, Kiley will invite participants to consider the Earth as one of the greatest teachers. Plants and animals have been illustrating, refining, and proving what it takes to be resilient since the beginning of time. Together, the group will explore nature's teachings and inquire into resilience as a verb, a process, a way of being and becoming that involves hope and choices. Kiley will highlight the research that illustrates that time in nature, just like time practicing meditation, benefits the nervous system.
