'The Equalizer' Renewed for Second Season on CBS

The pickup comes as the Queen Latifah-led reboot has put up strong viewing numbers in the weeks after its Super Bowl Sunday debut.
CBS is sticking with
The Equalizer.
The network has renewed the Queen Latifah-led reboot of its 1980s series for a second season in 2021-22. The pickup comes just four episodes into its first season, which began with a post-Super Bowl premiere and has put up solid ratings since.

The Equalizer has proven more than equal to the task of engaging viewers and racking up wins on Sunday night,” said CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl. "We're extremely proud to see this outstanding broadcast drama, led by Queen Latifah, punch through the competitive landscape and return for a second season."
