Hawaii Island mayor remains hospitalized in Hilo after suffering heart attack

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii County Mayor Mitch Roth was listed as being “stable and in good spirits” on Monday after he was hospitalized following a heart attack over the weekend, county officials said.
Roth felt discomfort in his chest Saturday night and was taken by first responders to North Hawaii Community Hospital. Officials say he was then transported to Hilo Medical Center where he was treated and a stent was implanted.
He remains in the hospital for observation, officials said Monday.
