Hawaii Health Department calls Kailua Bay bacteria levels 'very concerning'

For 13 days, a wastewater plant exceeded limits in Kailua Bay for enterococcus bacteria, an indicator of fecal material in water. Even more concerning is that the ocean outfall there is shared by both the Kailua Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant and Marine Corps Base Hawaii's Water Reclamation Facility.
