Harvey Weinstein, (born March 19, 1952, Flushing, Queens, New York, U.S.), American film producer who—with his brother, Bob—was cofounder and cochairman of Miramax Films (1979–2005) and later the Weinstein Company (2005–17). Once a powerful figure in Hollywood, his career ended following numerous allegations of sexual harassment and assault, several of which led to criminal charges and convictions. Reports of his misconduct gave rise to the Me Too movement. Weinstein attended the University of Buffalo, New York, where he began promoting rock concerts with his brother.
