Harrisburg council members this week unanimously approved an emergency ordinance to prevent renters from being kicked out of their homes during the pandemic if they are struggling financially.
A federal moratorium on evictions is set to expire Dec. 31, 2020, which could have put hundreds of city residents at risk of possible eviction on Jan. 1.
