BAD AXE — Six Upper Thumb high school football players have been named to the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association 2020 Academic All-State Team.
Dylan Kadar of Harbor Beach and Jacob Nimtz, Kirkland Czewski, Evan Volz, Daniel Czewski and Chase Payne all earned honors.
Those players named to the 2020 Academic All-State Team have cumulative grade point averages of at least 3.5 and were nominated by member coaches.
Kadar, a senior and Pirates quarterback and defensive back, said he prioritizes his studies along with sports and his family and friends, and he makes sure to spend and divide his time wisely between the three.
