Interim tax levy bylaw
At the Feb. 16 Hanover council meeting, council voted in favour of a bylaw to provide for interim tax levies for the year 2021.

The Municipal Act provides council, before the adoption of estimates for the year, to pass a bylaw levying amounts on the assessment of property in the local municipality rateable for local municipal purposes.
At the Jan. 11 council meeting the result was an overall tax increase of 2.82 per cent ($23.96 for every $100,000 of assessment).
