NEW CUMBERLAND – The Hancock County Commission is continuing its preparations for federal funding through the American Rescue Plan.
During their meeting Thursday, commissioners approved the creation of a new fund account in the county’s budget to hold money expected through the ARP.
“It’s the funds we’re receiving from the federal government,” explained Commissioner Jeff Davis, noting guidance from the state Auditor’s Office required the county to create a new budgetary line item.
