HAMPSHIRE soldiers are helping to administer Covid tests to thousands of lorry drivers bound for continental Europe.
The soldiers, who have been working 12-hour shifts in sub-zero temperatures, include members of Southampton-based C Company of the 4th Battalion Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment.
Private Sam Bell, from Southampton, is among the reserve soldiers who volunteered to help out.
Sam, who has been furloughed from his job, said: "I had been working in Winchester as a lifeguard but as that came to a halt because of the lockdown, I decided to volunteer for this.
"There are two of us from C Company.
