Hall County has one of the country's highest per-capita COVID-19 infection rates, a new analysis shows.
Hall County has had more than 13,129 confirmed cases per 100,000 people. That's the 15th highest rate among the nation's 380 metro areas. Only Dalton, at 13th, ranked higher in Georgia.
To determine the cities with the most COVID-19 cases, the website, 24/7WallSt.com compiled and reviewed data from state and local health departments. It ranked metro areas based on the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents as of March 7.
The report comes as news about coronavirus in Northeast Georgia has been mostly good recently. As of yesterday, 65 people were hospitalized in Northeast Georgia Health System hospitals. The high number of 355 patients was in early January.
