PLANS to revamp Halesowen Leisure Centre have been given the green light as part of a multi-million pound upgrade of centres across the Dudley borough.
Halesowen Leisure Centre in Pool Road has been earmarked for a range of improvements to the gym, plus a new children’s play area, following approval of a planning application that was submitted earlier this year.
Councillor Ian Kettle, Dudley Council's cabinet member responsible for leisure centres, welcomed the approval of the plan and he said: "This is fantastic news and another step towards our commitment to creating first class leisure facilities."
There will also be substantial improvements carried out soon at Stourbridge's Crystal Leisure Centre, including pool improvements and a revamp of the changing rooms, but planning approval for that scheme was not needed.
