The Maharashtra power department on Wednesday banned the use of Chinese equipment after malware from China, UK stole 8 GB data, Minister Nitin Raut said.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Power Minister Nitin Raut on Wednesday said that the department will not use any Chinese equipment after the entry of eight Trojan horse malware from China, the UK and other places by breaking firewall were to steal 8 GB of data was found.
Raut tabled the report of Maharashtra Cyber Cell on the October 12 Mumbai power outage in the Assembly.
“The SCADA unit that balances load dispatch as per supply and demand, shows the entry of 8 Trojan horse malware from China, UK and other places by breaking firewall. 8 GB of data was stolen. Our department won't use any Chinese equipment from now on,” Raut said.
