Gull general manager Dave Bodger says the retail fuel market is opening up through recommendations of the Commerce Commission that will be placed in law and a new independent wholesale supplier in the South Island.
Gull has opened its third petrol station in Christchurch, making five in the South Island, a far cry from the 99 in the North Island.
The third in Christchurch is opposite South Hagley Park on the corner of Moorhouse Avenue and Lincoln Road. The other two are in Woolston and Richmond.
Gull general manager Dave Bodger said Gull’s third site in Christchurch would provide additional competition and lower prices for South Island motorists. It’s opening price at the new station was $1.847 a litre for 91 unleaded fuel and $1.127 a litre for diesel.
