The El Paso Zoo and Botanical Garden opened on Wednesday after being closed for nearly 10 months since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
In order to open, employees of the zoo implemented some changes for the safety and health of zoo visitors, staff and the animals.
El Pasoans lined up early before the gates opened at 9:30 a.m. to visit their favorite animals.
They were accepting of the health changes that were put in place.
“It’s very good. They have us screened and everyone has to wear a mask. I feel very safe coming," said James Garey and his 3-year old daughter Lee.
