Growing forestry knowledge in Tasmanian schools

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is the strongest supporter of our sustainably managed forests and pleased that this knowledge is now being shared with Tasmanian students.
Today is Schools Tree Day and Sustainable Timber Tasmania and the Forest Education Foundation have partnered to provide seedlings and educational resources to 40 participating schools.
Twenty five of these schools have also expressed interest to host foresters from STT to plant trees with students and three schools, Sheffield, Sorrel and Scottsdale, are hosting full-day events on their school farms.
During these events, multiple classes participate in tree planting of seedlings from STT’s Perth nursery and enjoy forest learning activities with teachers from the Forest Education Foundation.
