When Stephanie Hollis logged into her account with Greenville County Schools, she noticed her graduating senior still had about $35 in unused lunch money.
She saw a button that allowed her to transfer the money to a sibling's account, but since neither of her other children eat lunch at school, she had another idea — why not donate it?
"When they have negative lunch balances, they get different lunches. And that's just not what a kid should have to worry about," Hollis said. "So if we could give the $35.50 to somebody to make them a little less anxious and [have] a little less negative of an experience? That's easy."
