It was a slow softball weekend in the Tribune-coverage area, but Leeds made up for it with its first tournament championship of the year.

Leeds wins Lincoln Softball Tournament
The Leeds softball team put together a couple wins last weekend on its way to a Lincoln Softball Tournament championship.
The Green Wave (7-16, 3-1) saw Maddie Anthony strike for a walk-off grand slam on Friday night in a 5-2 win over Lincoln. Leeds delivered another walk-off hit — this one from Kinlee Gilley — on Saturday in a 6-5 victory over Oxford.
For the Green Wave, Anthony finished with two hits and four RBIs in the wins to go with two hits and two RBIs from Gilley. Emma Machen pitched all 10 innings with seven runs allowed and nine strikeouts.
