MELAKA: For this Valentine's Day, couples in Melaka are allegedly ditching flowers for neem bouquets after an unproven claim that the Ayurvedic herb is an alleged cure for Covid-19.
Hotelier, Dennis Samford said he has received a number of strange requests from several individuals to prepare bouquets of neem leaves to celebrate the romantic day during the pandemic period.
"Many think neem leaves are a safe option as gifts to their sweethearts for the Valentine's Day on Feb 14," he said on Saturday (Feb 13).
Samford, who is also the Melaka Tourism Club's (MTBC) vice-chairman, said his resort at Tanjung Kling here has a giant neem tree.
