SMITHVILLE The Green Local Schools Board of Education is in the final stages of choosing a new treasurer to replace Barbara Markland, whose resignation is effective May 21.
The board is planning a second round of interviews Thursday. It screened five applicants on paper April 29 and narrowed the process to two finalists, said Superintendent Dean Frank.
VanMeter, Wilson are the finalists
The two finalists are Erin R. VanMeter, an assistant treasurer in Louisville City Schools, and James E. Wilson, a bursar at Lorain County Community College.
VanMeter earned a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from Walsh University and a master's of business administration from Ashland University. She has served as an assistant staff accountant at Stark State College and in the role of payroll and accounts payable for Massillon City Schools.
