ΑΤΗΕΝS -- Former European Commissioner Anna Diamantopoulou, who served Greece's now-defunct PASOK Socialists in top roles, is one of five candidates left in the race to become the next head of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) that's based in Paris.
She currently serves as President of the Athens-based think tank DIKTIO Network for Reform in Greece and Europe and from 1999-2004 was the EU chief in charge of employment, social affairs and equal opportunities.
Estonia’s President Kersti Kaljulaid and Canada’s ex-finance minister Bill Morneau have withdrawn from the race to lead the OECD, said Kathimerini, the group of 37 countries that get recommendations on economic growth.
